The Baltic Drummer League is a drummers competition, in which the best and most skilled drummers in the age category up to 25 years old are determined. The competition is organized by Saulkrasti Jazz in cooperation with musical instrument manufacturers Yamaha and Paiste, which allows to assess the mastery of Estonian, Lithuanian and Latvian drummers and motivates the most talented musicians to fight for the main prize of the competition.

That’s how competition turns into inspiration, into a competition for everyone with themselves, to be able to develop, grow and be more of who you are!
The Baltic Drummer League is a competition that determines the most masterful drummer in the Baltics, in the age group up to 25 years. The competition was held for the first time in 2010, and since then it has been held every two years.
The Baltic Drummer League is organized by the Riga Dome Choir School in cooperation with the Saulkrasti Jazz Festival and musical instrument manufacturers Yamaha and Paiste, which allows the most masterful drummers of Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia to compete for the prizes provided by these companies.
The main prize of the competition is 1000 EUR or a paid trip and participation in jazz music masterclasses at one of the jazz music festivals organized by cooperation partners of the Saulkrasti Jazz Festival. (see COLLABORATION)
The competition takes place in two rounds:
• The SELECTION round takes place in the home country of the contestant, where two contestants are selected to participate in the FINALS. The selection of Latvian drummers will take place on March 17 at 10:00 a.m. in the Choir Hall of the Riga Cathedral Choir School.
• The FINAL will take place in Latvia, as part of the Saulkrasti Jazz Festival on July 18 on the Great Stage, and it will be open to the public.
Previous winners of the Baltic Drummer League do not participate in the competition.
Each participant of the FINALS performs a previously prepared program, the stage time of which does not exceed 15 minutes.
The program includes:
• solo for snare drum/,
• free solo on the drum set /open solo/,
Playing with an ensemble or play along.
Each year, the participants of the competition are evaluated by a different jury committee, which consists of professional musicians and/or teachers from abroad.
Application and participation in the competition is free by filling out the QUESTIONNAIRE until March 1.
